I discovered photography while in grade school, when I acquired my first camera, a turquoise blue 620-film box camera. Over time, I saw that through photography I could show others my own awe and wonder for our world and my fascination with the extraordinary in the so-called ordinary. Whether I am looking at tree branches against the sky in winter or the trace of light and shadows on my kitchen wall, in my photos I strive to capture a ‘divine magic’ that lies within all, animate and inanimate alike, and a timelessness that is present within each moment. I think of my photographs as meditations on the divine; photography is one way to share this with others so that they can experience this sense of oneness and in turn, feel wonder, respect and appreciation for our world.
